Joeys nursery is registered to care for a maximum of 74 children each day between our Out of School Club, Little Jumpers Room & Koala Room.
We are a full time nursery and child care setting, offering flexible quality childcare for children aged from 3 month up to 12 years.
Whilst we try our best to accommodate parent’s requirements, the following criteria is used when deciding which child can be offered a place:
• Availability of spaces in the setting, taking into account the staff/child ratios, the age of the child and the registration requirements. The welfare of the children in our care is paramount so we must ensure that we have the right staff/child ratios.
• Priority will be given to children who already have siblings in Joeys. The oldest sibling will receive a 10% discount.
• When the application is received (extra weight is given to those who have been on the waiting list longest).
• Children need to be booked in for a minimum of one 3 hour session per week. This is for the benefit of the child as it helps them to settle.
We operate an inclusion and equality policy and ensure that all children have access to nursery places and services irrespective of gender, race, disability, religion or belief.
Joeys offers Early Years Free Entitlement to children who have reached their third birthday and to those two year olds who are also eligible, based on availability of spaces. Joeys reserves the right to determine when these sessions can be offered based on availability.
Children are old enough to receive the Early Years Free Entitlement at the beginning of the term following their third, or if eligible 2nd, birthday. Parents seeking a place should apply on the following basis:-
Children whose third birthday is on/between
Date of Entry
1st April and 31st August
1st September and 31st December
1st January and 31st March
An exception may be made under Joeys arrangements for the education of children with special needs where a child holds a Statement of Special Educational Needs, or there is sufficient evidence to suggest that the preparation of such a Statement is likely and it is considered that attendance at a particular nursery is necessary to meet the identified needs of that child.
Brothers and sisters are those living at the same address and include step and foster children. Priority will only be given where it is known at the time of allocating places that a sibling will be attending Joeys.
Booking forms should be submitted by the closing date, if applicable, to the Manager of the nursery. Where a closing date is required, bookings received after the closing date for oversubscribed sessions will not be considered unless there are very exceptional circumstances.
All children who apply for free entitlement by the specified date will be offered at least one place, if possible.
All funded sessions are in line with the flexible arrangement as specified by the Government. When you register your child for their funded place we will discuss your needs, and as far as possible where availability and staffing allows arrangements we will accommodate your wishes.
Joeys reserves the right to withdraw a place if it has been allocated on the basis of false information. Please also refer to our fees policy with regards to withdrawal of a place due to late payments.
In order for a child to attend Joeys Nursery or Out of School Club, parents or carers must fill out and sign a booking form and pay a deposit (please see our fee’s policy). These forms are essential as they provide us with vital personal information about each child, therefore it is important that parents/carers ensure that all of the information requested is filled in, including emergency contact info of 2 people other than parents themselves. It is imperative that parents notify us if any details on these forms change.
